Even though some magazines and ads claim that you can drop up to 20 pounds and tone up in 4 weeks without endangering your health, according to experts,  losing more than 8 pounds per month is not a healthy weight loss rate. Of course, everyone is losing weight differently, according to gender, activity level and lifestyle, but, normally, we should not aim at losing more than 4 to 8 pounds a month. Usually, men will lose weight more rapidly than women, because of hormonal differences and because they tend to have bigger amounts of lean muscle mass.

– Cut sugar (completely, if possible)
– Keep each meal between 400 to 600 calories
– When you go shopping for ingredients, prepare shopping lists and stick to the initial plan. If you don’t buy unhealthy food, you won’t be tempted to cheat.
– Clean eating doesn’t mean starving: start your day with a delicious smoothie, continue with vegetarian burger and end it with an Asian stir-fry.
– Always be open to new ideas and recipes. Even if, in the beginning, eating clean may seem impossible, if you persist and so some research, you’ll discover amazing tips and tricks you can apply in your own kitchen on a daily basis.
– Keep healthy snacks handy while removing all other distractions from your eating room (TV, other electronics)
