Smoothie bowls have become super popular lately and for good reason. They are super easy to make, look beautiful and are a fun way to eat your fruits and vegetables…. With the release of our new Zaggora Superfood Shots range we are looking for nice and easy ways to incorporate more fruits and vegetables in our diet. Below is an easy and simple creamy and delicious smoothie bowl which you can have in the morning or whenever you need a little pick me up to keep you going through the day.

Some of the key ingredients we have picked:

Greek or coconut yoghurt: the higher content of fat in greek or coconut yoghurts helps to keep us fuller for longer. Greek yoghurt in addition contains wonderful bacterial that helps with digestion.

Oats: oats are a healthy and simple way to start the day or snack. Naturally gluten free they provide complex carbs into your diet which break down slowly and provide a healthy and ongoing energy release to maintain healthy blood sugar levels

Mint: fresh mint helps with digestion and has a general soothing quality for both stomach and overall wellbeing. You may have heard that drinking mint tea when you have a headache is a good idea!

Avocado: Avocado is a super nutritious fruit which is rich in healthy fats, needed to maintain our joints, brain function and cell health. Avocado is also rich in a number of vitamins and minerals including Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin E.

Cocoa nibs: pure raw chocolate cocoa nibs are made by a natural process called winnowing, a process which removes the outer shell of the cocoa bean to leave the inner part, rich in natural acids and nutrients. Cacao is very antioxidant rich, contains plenty of fibre and is also rich in iron and magnesium, two minerals essential for health.

Lime: Zesty to taste and rich in vitamin C, a key antioxidant helping us to maintain our youth and vitality.

Honey: we just like it. Life’s better with a bit of sweetness.
